HIX | H table

The smartphone has become an integral part of today’s lifestyle and one’s social status.

It ensures we always remain connected where-ever we are but in practice, disconnects us from our environment.

This project presents a series of three critical everyday furniture pieces that emphasize this growing phenomenon, "1% anxiety."

Each piece of furniture doubles as a charger, and during the charging process the smartphone cannot be used and stimulates users to rethink their relationship with their smartphones.

The table is designed for two users and works only when two phones are charging, which obliges the two users not to look at their phones and to relate to each other.
